  • Family

Cover your ears Wiggles fans, Anthony Field just dropped a clanger on live radio - admitting he's not sang live for years.

The Blue Wiggle, and the longest running band member, was talking to Fitzy & Wippa on Nova on Thursday when he made the shock confession.

The 57-year-old children's entertainer explained that he's in fact mimed as Red Wiggle Simon Pryce's sang his parts for him.

"I have this low voice and people would ask me to sing in public and they'd be very disappointed," the Blue Wiggle explained on the radio show.

He then went on to sing a bit of "Fruit Salad" on the show before exlaiming, "I never sing!"

Co-host Sarah McGilvrary was quick to ask for an explaination. "Have you just lifted the lid on a huge Wiggles scandal? … I thought you all sang."

Anthony then admitted, " "For years I mimed! Believe this or not, I mimed Simon's voice for years."
