If you're up for a bit of an adventure with the family (and have visited all your favourite beaches too many times to count!), get off the beaten track and swim nestled amongst nature at Collins Flat Beach.
This charming Sydney beach boasts Harbour views and a waterfall to add to its mystery and allure.
Collins Flat Beach is Sydney's Hidden Waterfall Beach

Collins Flat Beach is in the North Head Precinct of Sydney Harbour National Park between Store Beach and Little Manly Beach and is the only harbour beach in Sydney with a waterfall.
Like its neighbours to the left and right, Collins Flat is a modest enclave with little to no waves, so don't expect big successes on your surfboard. Popular with families with toddlers, visitors come to the peaceful inlet for the calm waters, picture-perfect views, a play in the sand, and a wander over to the waterfall.

The waters here are relatively shallow, so this is a great spot to bring babies or toddlers keen to have their first dip in the ocean. Unfortunately, there are no picnic facilities or toilets nearby, so come prepared!

How do I Get to Collins Flat Beach?

The easiest way to access the beach is along Collins Beach Road just beyond the old Manly Hospital. From there, it's just a short walk past the Australian Institute of Police Management and along the Collins Flat Track to get to paradise.
You can also access the cosy beach inlet from the other side via Collins Flat Track at Skinner's Reserve (right near Manly's Jump Rock).
The Secluded Beach Waterfall

Top off the perfect summer's day at the beach with a refreshing splash at the famous waterfall.
Sydney's only harbour beach waterfall is right on the beach (towards the back) and often has a tranquil stream running from it to the shoreline. While you wouldn't describe the Collins Flat Waterfall as gushing, it can pump out some enjoyable splashes after decent rainfall, and the kids will love it regardless!
