A brand-new all-abilities playground is coming to Waratah Park in the Sutherland Shire, and it's designed for everyone to play, explore, and have fun together!

While loads of cool new features are included in the glow-up (hello new slides and swings!), the shining stars in the upgrade are all the new safety and inclusivity features such as safe and level pathways, extra lighting, and inclusive play equipment.

Inclusive playgrounds like Waratah Park are essential to growing suburbs and increased needs throughout Sydney. They bring families together, encourage social connection, and ensure that every child gets to experience the joy of play.

So, What's New?

Kids of all ages and needs can play all day with a host of cool new play features, including:

  • A flying fox with an accessible seat for high-flying thrills.
  • Sand and water sensory play for hands-on fun.
  • A carousel and slides designed for all abilities.
  • Musical and nature play to spark creativity.
  • A junior bike path for little riders.
  • Swings with different seat options for comfort and support.

And for parents and visiting families? There'll also be plenty of shaded seating and social areas so families can relax and enjoy while the kids play. 

With easy access from parking and community bus stops, plus well-lit pathways leading to Rawson Avenue, this playground is designed to be welcoming and safe for everyone.

Location & Opening Date

The new Waratah Park All-abilities Playground is located at Rawson Parade, Sutherland and is set to open in June 2025.
