IKI Sushi: All Aboard Sydney❜s Coolest Sushi Train
If your kids love a sushi train (and let's be honest, half the fun is watching the plates go by), there's a new spot in St Leonards that's kicking the fun factor up a notch.
IKI Sushi: All Aboard Sydney's Coolest Sushi Train
Meet IKI Sushi, a new addition to family dining on the North Shore that's bringing a more polished take on the classic sushi train, without losing the fun factor families love. Behind it is the team from IKI Dining in Potts Point, led by Michelin Star-awarded chef Masahiko Yomoda, who you might recognise from MasterChef and Iron Chef.
What Families Can Expect
So what's different? The sushi train here feels a little more considered. There are high-quality ingredients, beautifully presented plates and a menu designed to be savoured rather than rushed. There's also an omakase offering if you're feeling fancy, but the train is where things get especially fun for families.
The setup includes a double-level train, plus a Shinkansen-style delivery system that sends dishes straight to your table — something kids will happily watch on repeat. Even better, kids' meals arrive in mini police cars and fire trucks, which is pretty much guaranteed to keep little diners entertained!
Despite the chef's credentials, prices remain surprisingly approachable, with plates starting at around $3.50 and most in the $6–$7 range. It makes it easy to mix and match without overthinking it.
Since IKI Sushi only opened a couple of months ago, the menu is still growing day by day, with the full lineup expected to roll out over the next few months.
All up, it's a great option when you want something a little more elevated than your usual sushi train, but still relaxed enough that kids can enjoy every minute of it.
Location & Parking
The new IKI Sushi is located at 472-486 Pacific Hwy, St Leonards.
There's free parking at St Leonards Square, and it's an easy walk from the Crows Nest Metro.
Opening Hours
While they're still in their soft-launch phase, IKI Sushi will be open Thursday to Sunday from 12-3 pm for lunch and 5-9 pm for dinner.
