The Wizards Express is Rolling Into Town For 1 Day Only

For one magical day, Zig Zag Railway's heritage steam trains are swapping coal smoke for something a little more enchanted! On Saturday 3 October, families can board the Wizards Express, get sorted into one of five Academy Houses, and work through a full timetable of magical classes: Potions, Pyromantics, Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Ancient Runes, Trackology and Zuggle Studies.

What To Expect Aboard the Wizards Express

This October, the heritage tracks aren't just carrying trains. They're carrying witches, wizards and everyone brave enough to join them.

Here's how the day unfolds. You'll arrive at the platform and get sorted into one of five Academy Houses, so pick your team wisely before the Wizards Express rolls in. Once you're aboard, it's a full day of spellwork, steam and shenanigans.

And there's plenty to keep everyone busy once you're through the gates. Try your hand at Potions (safely, we promise), get a feel for fire in Pyromantics, meet some creatures that really shouldn't exist in Care of Magical Creatures, get a bit dirty in Herbology, crack codes in Ancient Runes, follow invisible trails in Trackology, and untangle the odd logic of Zuggle Studies. Every class is hands-on, every house is chasing points, and there's something magical tucked into pretty much every corner.

When you need a break, there's themed food and drinks to refuel with, wizarding merch to take home, and plenty of little surprises scattered around the precinct all day.
