What's On at the 2026 Transport Heritage Expo
Central Station transforms into a living transport museum for the Transport Heritage Expo, running across the full October Long Weekend from Saturday 3 to Monday 5 October.
Heritage steam and electric trains, vintage buses and steamboat cruises all take turns on show, with rides available for a gold coin donation up to $35. Kids can explore historic carriages up close, while train enthusiasts can watch two steam locomotives race through the Inner West to Strathfield.
Most of the expo is free to wander through, making it an easy add to a long weekend itinerary for families.
