The Wind in the Willows at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney

Australia's much-loved family entertainment event is back in January 2026. The Wind in the Willows returns to the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney , with music, songs, and laughs as it celebrates 26 years in the beautiful gardens this summer.

The Wind in the Willows at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney

Come along this summer and meet Ratty, Mole, Badger, Otter, Portly, and Mr Toad as they bring Kenneth Grahame's immortal tale of life on the riverbank to Sydney in Glenn Elston's fun, interactive, critically-acclaimed outdoor theatre production.

This bonny, boisterous gang will entertain littlies and biggies alike, and have them will giggling and howling at the characters' mad antics. Go on an adventure with Head Chief Rabbit, Ratty, and Mole, then join a dangerous mission with the Rat Pack and Badger Patrol to rescue little, lost Portly the Otter from the Wild Wood.

This is delightful theatre at its best, and young audiences are encouraged to join in the action, to scream out loud, sing along, and become part of the adventure, calling out, "He’s behind you!" and singing, "Waggle your ears, wiggle your nose", or the inimitable "Quack quack quackady-quack!"

This is a picnic seating event, so pack a basket and a blanket and head on down to the riverbank for this rollicking production.

The Wind in the Willows runs for 1 hour and 45 minutes and is an interactive show - it will move to different locations throughout the performance.
