The Nutcracker On Ice Glides Into Sydney

The Imperial Ice Stars return to the Coliseum Theatre this December with The Nutcracker on Ice, bringing a beloved Christmas tale to life on a glittering frozen stage.

A Magical Christmas Adventure For All Ages

Set to Tchaikovsky's famous score, The Nutcracker on Ice blends theatrical storytelling with elite ice skating. Audiences will see sweeping choreography, high-speed acrobatics and daring lifts performed by the internationally acclaimed Imperial Ice Stars under the direction of Tony Mercer.

The Original Tale You Know & Love

The story begins when Clara receives a wooden nutcracker that suddenly comes to life. With the Sugar Plum Fairy as her guide, she travels through the Land of Snowflakes and into the colourful Kingdom of Sweets.

Each scene unfolds through expressive skating and imaginative staging, transforming the classical ballet into an exciting production designed for families and theatre lovers.

The Imperial Ice Stars are known for combining technical skill with strong storytelling. Their performances feature fast-paced routines and dramatic skating sequences, all created for the compact space of a theatre stage.

The Nutcracker on Ice offers a fresh way to experience the festive favourite, with the familiar music and characters reimagined through movement on ice.

Good to Know

The performance runs for approximately two hours and 20 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

Children's tickets are available for ages 2 to 17. Babies under 24 months may attend free of charge when seated on a parent or carer's lap.
