Sydney Youth Orchestra Summer School Holiday Programs

Held at the Santa Sabina campus in Strathfield, SYO’s Orchestral Explorers and Summer School programs provide the perfect mix of fun, learning, and musical discovery for young music lovers of all levels.

SYO Orchestral Explorers

Orchestral Explorers is a three-day course designed for children aged 5–8 who are eager to embark on their musical journey but haven’t yet started formal lessons. Ideal for beginners, it offers a lively introduction to the world of orchestral music, helping young students explore and connect with instruments in a fun, supportive environment.

SYO Summer School

For students with experience on an orchestral instrument, the SYO Summer School is a five-day intensive program, open to primary and high school students (5-18 years old) from beginners through to those at AMEB Grade 7 level. Led by Sydney’s best music educators, it offers a week of rehearsals, tutorials, and ensemble practice, concluding with a celebratory concert at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Both programs offer extended childcare for busy families, and Creative Kids Vouchers are accepted, making this high-quality holiday program more accessible.

When:  SYO Orchestral Explorers: Wednesday 15 – Friday 17 January 2025 | 9 am-3 pm
             SYO Summer School: Monday 13 - Friday 17 January 2025 | 9 am – 3 pm
             Concert - Saturday 18 January concert
Cost:    SYO Orchestral Explorers: $375 plus a 1.4% processing fee
             SYO Summer School: $635 plus a 1.4% processing fee
