Sydney Rodeo 2026

The Sydney Rodeo, the showpiece event of Australia's national Stampede Series, is bucking into Blacktown Showgrounds for two huge nights this April, and it's shaping up to be a boot-stomping, dust-kicking family night out!

Expect the main arena to come alive with Australia's best cowboys and cowgirls going head-to-head in heart-racing bull riding, saddle bronc, bareback and barrel racing, all competing for thousands of dollars in prize money. It's loud, it's fast, and it's seriously impressive. The thundering hooves, the cheers from the crowd and the sheer athleticism on display make it a spectacle kids (and grown-ups) won't forget in a hurry.

There'll also be food trucks serving up crowd-pleasers, bars for the grown-ups, kid-friendly activities to keep little wranglers entertained, and live music once the sun goes down.

As the ninth and largest stop on the national Stampede Series — Australia's biggest rodeo circuit — the Sydney Rodeo delivers top-tier competition and serious country hospitality. On Friday night, gates swing open from 4 pm, with rodeo action kicking off at 6.30 pm and charging full steam into the night. Not sure which evening to choose? Friday is its own standalone competition and wraps with a Stampede Series finals showdown, so you'll score the same electric atmosphere and edge-of-your-seat thrills no matter which night you saddle up for.
