Celebrate Lunar New Year at Some of Sydney’s Top Attractions


In 2024, some of Sydney’s top attractions are celebrating the Lunar New Year, and invite you to join them in welcoming in the Year of the Dragon at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, the Sydney Tower Eye, and Madame Tussauds Sydney. To mark this significant occasion, plenty of fantastic activities are available between the 9th and 18th of February to enjoy during the Lunar New Year holiday period.

On selected dates, observe a traditional Lion Dance and Choy Cheng eating of the lettuce ceremony at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium. The year of the Dragon represents power, strength, good luck and wisdom, and you can soak up the vibes on Dugong Island, home of resident dugong, Pig, as the Choy Lee Fut Lion Dance Team showcases a Traditional Southern Lion Dance, a performance that inspires good fortune through traditional blessings and routines.

Indulge at one of the exclusive dumpling bar evenings on the Koala Rooftop at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. Soar into Year of the Dragon with a Lunar New Year experience unlike any other featuring 30 minutes of dumplings and drinks with fluffy koalas, plus after-hours access to the zoo!

Visit Sydney’s highest Hong Bao tree and make your New Year wishes at the Sydney Tower Eye. Embrace this timeless practice of throwing a red ribbon into the branches, each carrying a wish for prosperity, happiness and longevity for the coming year.
