School Holiday Fencing Camp

  • Mon Oct 07 - Wed Oct 09 2019
  • Kids
    Teens
  • From: $70.00

What child hasn’t picked up a stick and waved it around like a sword? What child hasn’t then turned their mischievous gaze upon a sibling or friend…? Why not let them have a go? Fencing is a super fun, super safe sport (rated the 5th safest in the Olympic games) that your kids will just love.

The NSW Fencing Centre is holding a School Holiday Camp over 3 days from 7th to 9th October for beginners and intermediate fencers from 6 to 14 years old (choose from 1, 2 or 3 days).

Our World Class coaches will warm the kids up with some agility exercises and games, before teaching them the basic fencing skills they will need. But we know why they are here - soon enough the kids will be taking to the piste for bouts of electric fencing! The coaches will watch and teach and help them have loads of fun. Finally the group warm down to stretch those tired muscles to avoid injuries.

All the equipment they need to stay safe is included in the price, and they will teach all three weapons - foil, sabre and epee. Apart from being amazing fun, fencing is also a very inclusive, very social sport. Come with friends, come with family, come alone, but leave with new friends.

Where:    New South Wales Fencing Centre, Alexandria
When:     7th - 9th October, from 9:30am to 3:30 pm
Cost:       $70 for one day, 2 days $130, 3 days $180

My daughter has attended this camp in the past. It is AMAZING! The kids start with warm up exercises to promote their fitness. Then they learn the basics about fencing including safety. The kids get to suit up and have a go at electronic fencing even on the first day! The coaches and staff are welcoming from the moment you step through the doors and the social vibe makes the kids feel comfortable and excited to try the sport. All levels of experience are catered to at the camp. Even those kids who have never tried the sport (complete beginners). If you want to give your child a different experience to the typical sports camps for a bit of variety, please consider fencing. My daughter is now hooked on the sport due to the wonderful support she got during her camp days.
