Pop Up Pedal Parks are back in Randwick Council

Get ready to ride, skate, scoot, and jump, as pop up pedal parks have once again returned to Randwick until the end of August.

Mayor of Randwick, Dylan Parker shared, "We are absolutely thrilled to kick off another season of pedal park excitement. These parks have become a hit among local kids and families, creating a vibrant and engaging outdoor space where everyone can have a blast."

Thanks to overwhelming community support, the pedal park program has expanded since its debut in 2020. In addition to the beloved Chifley Reserve and Clovelly car parks, the South Maroubra car park joined the lineup in 2022. And now, they're all back again this year to provide the recreational space that the community has been asking for.

Originally launched during the lockdown in June 2020, the pedal parks provided a safe haven for kids to stay active and have fun when the beaches were closed. Rediscovering the timeless joy of riding a bike with friends, children embraced these spaces with enthusiasm.

In November 2020, the Council decided to continue the pedal park program for three consecutive winters, ensuring that local families always have a safe and accessible place for outdoor recreation.

Various ramps have since been added to enhance the experience, providing children with even more opportunities to learn new skills and boost their confidence.
