Unleash Creativity and Curiosity at Powerhouse's Spring School Holiday Program

Dive into a World of Remarkable Objects and Stories

Strike a pose
Strike a Pose is about so much more than just looking good.

The Powerhouse Spring School Holidays Program invites families to explore the exhibition "1001 Remarkable Objects," where bespoke artist-led workshops will engage young audiences with the Powerhouse Collection objects on display.

Starting off, we have Strike a Pose (Ages 9–17), a unique workshop that lets your kids explore their inner model. It's not just about looking good; it's about the confidence and creativity that come with it.

For those who love stories and history, 3001 Remarkable Stories (All Ages) is a must-visit. This all-ages exhibition takes you on a journey through time and space, exploring the stories behind 3001 remarkable objects. But if you're more into the future than the past, you'll want to check out Family Electric Car Design (Ages 7+). This hands-on workshop is a family affair, where you can design what you think cars should look like in the future.

Tech-savvy kids will have their day with Introduction to 3D Printing (Ages 10–12) and Introduction to Coding with Micro:Bit (Ages 7–12). These workshops are perfect introductions to the worlds of 3D printing and coding, offering foundational skills that could lead to a lifelong passion.

Minecraft powerhouse workshop
There are three amazing Minecraft workshops to pick from.

For the Minecraft enthusiasts—and let's be honest, who isn't one?—there are several options. Family Minecraft (Ages 7+) lets families delve into virtual worlds together. For more specialized interests, there's Minecraft 1001 Remarkable Objects (Ages 7–12), which combines history and virtual building, and Minecraft: Build Smarter with Code (Ages 7–12), where coding meets gaming.

But the fun doesn't stop there. Older kids can dive into Unity Game Design (Ages 12–15), a two-day workshop that's perfect for aspiring game designers. Or if you're looking for something a bit more hands-on, there's Object Design with 3D Pens (Ages 7+):, Minecraft Play! (Ages 7–12), Intermediate Minecraft Coding (Ages 7–12), Blender 3D Design (Ages 12–15), and the Hackathon Design Challenge (Ages 10–12). These workshops offer a range of activities from 3D design to coding challenges, ensuring that every young mind finds something to pique their interest.

The Powerhouse Museum ensures that there's something for everyone. From hands-on activities to interactive exhibitions, it's a perfect family destination for exploring the arts and science.
