Families who grew up with the magic of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone can now share the experience with a whole new generation.

This year, the beloved film is celebrating 25 years since it first enchanted audiences, and to celebrate, you can see it on the big screen with bonus footage, in cinemas from 27 August for one week only!

Dust off your robes and practise your spellwork - the wizarding world is celebrating a major milestone. Twenty-five years after Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first cast its spell, the magic is returning to Hoyts, Village and Event cinemas for a limited time only.

To mark this special anniversary, cinemas across Australia are bringing the wizarding world back into the spotlight so young witches, wizards and curious Muggles can immerse themselves in the spellbinding story all over again.

When Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone premiered in November 2001, it became the highest-grossing film of the year and launched an eight-film phenomenon that has since earned more than $7.7 billion worldwide.

Twenty-five years on, the magic still holds strong. The anniversary screenings are a chance for longtime fans to revisit the story that started it all - and for a new generation to discover the wonder of Hogwarts for the first time.
