The annual Granny Smith Festival celebrates the life and legacy of one of Australia's most famous citizens, Maria Ann Smith - aka Granny Smith - who, back in 1868, 'accidentally' grew the first batch of little green apples that bear her name and are now grown all over the world!

The festival began in 1985 and is now regarded as one of Sydney's largest street festivals, a true community carnival, full of colour and good old fashioned fun. It attracts over 90,000 each year and is supported by local businesses, sporting and service organisations, schools and the wider community.

What's On This Year?

From market stalls offering unique crafts and goods to a variety of food trucks serving delicious eats, there's something for everyone. This year, the festival will feature a banner lineup of performances, including special performances by The Wiggles!

The festival will feature engaging performances and a dedicated youth zone filled with activities and workshops for the younger crowd. And, of course, the grand street parade will showcase over 700 local participants, adding a vibrant and communal spirit to the festivities.
