Aimed at children aged 5 to 12, this series of engaging workshops transports them straight into the life of colonial Australia. No history books, just hands-on, down-and-dirty fun!
A Day in Colonial Shoes
Imagine your kids swapping iPads for ironing boards, playing historical house rather than house-play. They’ll be scrubbing laundry, polishing silver, sorting beans – it's like stepping into a 19th-century chore list! It's not all work, though; they end their historical hustle with a tasty treat of barley water and biscuits – how's that for a history lesson?
Why This Workshop Rocks
Vaucluse House isn't just a backdrop; it's a time capsule! Here, your kids don’t just learn about history – they live it. They’ll dive into the daily grind of a convict servant, all in the setting of one of Sydney's most historic estates. It's history but with a lot more action and a lot less snoozing.
Once the kids have clocked out of their convict duties, why not explore the splendid grounds of Vaucluse House? Wander through the pleasure gardens or explore the sandstone verandah. It’s a perfect mix of education and relaxation – a slice of history with room to breathe.
