Ready to introduce your little ones to the movie-going experience? Cinémathèque Junior at the Art Gallery of New South Wales has created a relaxed cinema experience that parents will enjoy too!

Whether it is your child’s very first film or a regular fortnightly outing on the calendar, these welcoming and easygoing screenings are designed with families in mind, making it a great introduction to the big screen for young audiences, with flexibility, comfort and plenty of wiggle room.

At Cinémathèque Junior, the theatre stays lightly dimmed so nobody is left in the dark. Easy pram access and nearby parking make getting to your seat simple, while families are free to come and go during the film if little ones need a break.

Before the screening begins, kids can burn off energy in the soft play space. It is also open during the session if anyone gets a little restless. The cinema is conveniently located right next to the Ashley Dawson-Damer Children’s Art Library, so families can easily turn their visit into a full morning of creativity and play at the gallery.
