It's that time of the year again - when families, schools, and libraries across Australia celebrate the magic of the written word during Book Week. And the Book Week 2024 theme has been revealed!

Run by the Children's Book Council Of Australia, Book Week is always a magical time of the year for children to let their imaginations run wild with costumes and school book fairs, and Book Week 2024 is set to be no different. 

So if you've got a particularly creative kid in your household, we're willing to bet they're getting super pumped for the Book Week events coming in August 2024 and chomping at the bit to find out what the theme for this year's Book Week is...

The theme for Book Week 2024 is (drum roll, please!) Reading is Magic.

The enchanting theme, 'Reading is Magic' celebrates the extraordinary power of stories to transport and transform young minds, inspiring curiosity about the wonders of our world. This positive and uplifting message encourages children to explore and connect through the magic of reading.

The allure of a good book lies in its ability to spark conversations, linking readers with one another. At the heart of this magic are the incredible skills of talented writers and illustrators, who use their mastery of language and art to draw readers into the captivating worlds they create.

While Book Week costumes are of course a whole lot of fun and a great way to inspire a connection with literature, it's important to note that Book Week is about so much more than just costumes. Book Week is about recognising that with good literature, students can grow and flourish.
