Blacktown City Show 2024

The Blacktown Show is back and better than ever, with a jam-packed program of family-friendly fun and entertainment for all ages. This two-day event is set to take place on the 9 and 10 of March 2024 at the Blacktown Showground.

Get ready to experience the thrill of the Woodchopping Competition as competitors go head-to-head in the Centre Ring. Cheer on your favourites and watch as they chop through logs like butter!

If you're looking for something a little more relaxed, take a stroll through the Horticulture Pavilion and admire the stunning array of plants and flowers on display. Or check out the Arts & Crafts and Photography exhibitions to see some incredible local talent.

For the foodies out there, the Cooking competition is not to be missed, with mouth-watering creations on display that are sure to inspire your next culinary masterpiece. And don't forget to stop by the Poultry and Caged Birds section to see some of the most beautiful and unique feathered friends around, or step into the reptile display, sure to be a favourite for the whole family. 

For the young ones, the Joey Presto Magic Show is sure to be a hit or they can enjoy the magic of Professor Wallace's Puppet Theatre. And for those who are musically inclined, plenty is happening, plus a vast array of exciting rides. 

The Spot Print Stage will be alive with entertainment all weekend, with Search for a Star Talent Quest, Tribal Drum African Drumming Group, and Bollyfit by Nikita - BFN Studio, among others.

Blacktown's Favourite Petting Zoo

One of the most popular attractions at the show is the Animal Farm Nursery, where visitors can interact with a variety of friendly animals. This year, Misty Ridge Cuddly Animal Farm will be featured at the Animal Farm Nursery, run by experienced animal handler, Cherilyn. With over 30 years of experience, Cherilyn's main goal is to provide a positive animal experience for children, allowing them to groom, feed, and care for the animals in a safe and educational way.

All animals are hand-raised and accustomed to being handled, making it the perfect entertainment for playgroups, preschools, kindergartens, primary schools, or any special event.

Live Reptile Displays

The Blacktown City Show will also be excited to welcome back Live Reptile Displays, a popular attraction for both young and old. The Live Reptile Displays provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about the positive aspects of reptiles, especially snakes, which often have a negative image. By understanding the importance of snakes in our environment, visitors can develop respect for these creatures.
