Join rebellious Princess Isabella as she embarks on an epic adventure in The Princess, The Pea (and The Brave Escapee) as the Australian Chamber Orchestra presents an enchanting 21st-century reimagining of a much-loved fairytale designed especially for little theatre lovers.

Isabella is the daughter of the grandest king: born with everything, surrounded by wealth, and held in the highest castle. Her life is big, bold, and brash, yet she notices the small, beautiful things around her… from the way frogs hold their breath in the pond to how sand feels between her toes at the beach. Isabella's life might be easy, yet she is discontent and dreaming of a new life away from the confines of the castle.

One day, a storm strikes, and while everyone is distracted, she seizes her chance to escape. With all the courage she can muster and her amazing super senses to guide her, she embarks on an incredible journey filled with daring feats and surprising friendships, uncovering the unseen magic the world holds. 

This stunning theatrical production comes alive on stage with classical music performed live by ACO musicians - a delight for young audiences!

Plus, they can enjoy free creative play activities in the foyer before and after the performance, while parents can enjoy the magnificent harbour views from the foyer spaces.

The 30-minute performance (plus the post-show ‘meet the musicians’ session) is recommended for children aged 3 - 10 and their families.
