For families with curious little explorers, Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan offers a beautiful way to connect with nature this autumn through its enchanting Seedlings program.

Designed for preschoolers, these immersive sessions — led by experienced Early Years educators — blend storytelling, sensory play and hands-on discovery to inspire creativity and confidence.

Perfect for children aged 2.5 to 5 years, the program also features a special First Nations-led session each term, giving families a meaningful opportunity to learn about Country.

Young nature lovers can step into the shoes of real scientists at Budding Botanists, a hands-on school holiday adventure at the Bowden Centre.

This engaging program invites kids to become plant detectives on a guided garden walk, uncovering the secrets of leaves, flowers and fascinating plant adaptations. Along the way, budding botanists will conduct fun experiments and create their own herbarium pressings as beautiful keepsakes to take home.

Designed for children aged 5 to 12 years and accompanied by an adult, it's an inspiring blend of discovery, creativity and outdoor exploration. Spaces are limited, so be sure to book early for this unforgettable botanical adventure.

This meaningful community event invites visitors to honour the Stolen Generations and celebrate the richness of First Nations culture through a moving program of ceremony, storytelling and cultural activities. The day begins with a catered morning tea, followed by a heartfelt ceremony featuring a Welcome to Country, a smoking ceremony, truth-telling, and cultural performances. Youth voices will also share their hopes for the future, offering a powerful reminder of resilience and renewal.

After the formal proceedings, guests are welcome to stay and connect with live entertainment, interactive workshops, and community stalls, with food trucks available throughout the day.

Unlike many local courses, the Parkrun scenic trail winds through rolling hills and diverse landscapes, offering a rewarding challenge for fitness enthusiasts and a refreshing outdoor experience for all ages.

After crossing the finish line, participants can unwind with a well-earned coffee at The Garden's Café. Please note that pets and prams are not permitted on the course to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
