Melbourne Symphony Orchestra: Carnival of the Animals
Young music lovers are invited on a joyful journey through the animal kingdom as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra brings Camille Saint-Saëns' beloved Carnival of the Animals to life at Hamer Hall this August.
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra: Carnival of the Animals
From graceful swans and playful fish to lumbering elephants and a majestic lion, each piece introduces a different creature through music, creating a concert that's full of imagination and discovery.
Adding an extra layer of excitement, children are invited to submit drawings of their favourite animals featured in the music before the performance. Selected artworks will be projected live during the concert, giving young artists the chance to see their creations become part of the show.
Hosted by ABC presenter and passionate nature enthusiast Dr Ann Jones, this family-friendly concert is designed to spark curiosity while introducing children to the magic of a live orchestra. A relaxed performance at 12.30 pm offers a welcoming environment for families who may benefit from a more flexible concert experience.
