Melbourne families, this is your ticket to a super cool expedition! You can sleep among prehistoric giants in the museum's Dinosaur Walk during these school holidays. Melbourne Museum’s Family Sleepover is the ultimate night at the museum experience, and it’s bursting with prehistoric fun, epic space adventures and a good dose of family bonding.

This isn't your average bedtime campout! Think torchlight tours, after-hours adventures, LEGO^® Star Wars building sessions, and a screening of Superman on the giant IMAX screen, all wrapped up with a night on dreamy Ecosa mattresses. It’s a blockbuster overnight experience for kids aged 10 - 16 and their lucky grown-ups.

Melbourne Museum Sleepover Itinerary

Once the museum doors close to the public, the real after-hours fun begins. Your evening kicks off with a sparkling tour of the glowing minerals, meteorites and massive crystals in the Dynamic Earth Gallery. From there, it’s straight into a Triceratops torchlight tour, where you’ll come face-to-face with Horridus, one of the most complete Triceratops fossils in the world.

Next up, it’s time to explore a galaxy far, far away at the world-first LEGO^® Star Wars: The Exhibition. This hands-on experience features more than 8 million bricks and interactive build zones designed by LEGO^® Certified Professional Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught. Build starfighters, design your own lightsaber and see your creations come to life.

No sleepover is complete without a movie, and this one’s super! Guests score a ticket to IMAX Melbourne for a screening of the new Superman (Rated M), complete with a supersized snack attack: popcorn, choc top and drink included. After the credits roll, it’s time to tuck in for the night surrounded by the towering fossils of Dinosaur Walk.

The next morning begins with a hot breakfast, followed by an exclusive meet-and-greet with the Museum’s adorable Baby Triceratops. Then it’s a final guided morning tour before you say goodbye to your hosts, and enjoy full-day admission to explore the Museum at your own pace.
