Korea Festival

Spend a Saturday with Korean drumming, fashion and food at Korea Festival in Flagstaff Gardens!

This free, one-day celebration of Korean culture marks 65 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Australia, and it runs from 11 am to 9.30 pm on Saturday 7 November with performances, food and market stalls to fill the day.

Cultural performances run all afternoon, including a hanbok fashion show, janggu drumming and haegeum music, with a special performance by drummer Rino. The fashion show parades traditional Korean dress. Drumming is a good one for little ones, and the rhythm does most of the talking.

Between performances, you can browse the Korean food stalls, market stalls and cultural booths. Food is the easy win with children, so pick a stall or two and graze your way around the gardens. An AI media art screening, created with Korea's KAIST, gives the grown-ups something modern to watch.
