From the extraordinary Bangarra Dance Theatre comes ILLUME, a vibrant new theatrical experience that unites music, visual arts, and dance to celebrate how light has captivated and sustained Indigenous culture for millennia.

ILLUME shines a spotlight on today’s challenges as artificial light pollution disrupts natural ecosystems and dims our night sky, affecting the deep connections First Nations people have with sky country. In this innovative collaboration, Mirning Artistic Director Frances Rings and Goolarrgon Bard Visual Artist Darrell Sibosado explore how the awe of light can bridge the physical and spiritual, while urging us to preserve the wisdom passed down from elders.
