Fondue Chalet at Fed Square
Melbourne's cosiest winter dining experience is back, and it's bringing all the magic of the French Alps with it. Returning to Federation Square for seven delicious weeks, Fondue Chalet transforms the heart of the city into a glowing Alpine village complete with private timber chalets, crackling fire pits and the irresistible scent of melted cheese in the air.
Fondue Chalet at Fed Square
This year, there's a tasty twist. Before stepping inside your chalet, you'll choose your ultimate winter feast: rich, bubbling fondue or the indulgent theatre of raclette, where perfectly melted cheese is scraped over your plate. Both are classic French mountain dishes designed for one thing: bringing people together to share, chat and linger a little longer over dinner.
Inside, the experience is all warm lighting, rustic wood interiors and that unmistakable après-ski atmosphere. It's run by a French team, so everything — from the recipes to the ambience — feels authentically Alpine, right down to the accents.
As the sun sets over Fed Square, the village truly comes to life. Chalets glow, mulled wine steams in the cool air, and the whole space hums with that cosy, winter energy Melbourne does so well.
There's a session to suit every kind of outing. The earlier 5 pm sittings are perfect for families looking for something a little different, while the 7 pm session is the most popular for lively group dinners. Later, the 8.30 pm bookings lean into a more relaxed, grown-up vibe, ideal for long chats over wine and cheese.
So, book your chalet and get dipping!
