It’s hot, it’s summer, and water play is a hot topic at the forefront of many family’s agendas. Whether it’s the beach, a splash park or a water playground—everyone wants a destination where kids can blow off steam, keep cool and be super tired by the time bedtime rolls around…#amiright. Well Warringah Aquatic Centre delivers all of this and more!

Warringah Water Playground (inside Warringah Aquatic Centre) has recently undergone a makeover, which means Warringah Aquatic Centre in Frenchs Forest has gone from an average pool for a swim to an epic place to play for the day! The outdoor areas at Warringah Aquatic Centre have been transformed into an incredibly interactive play space that incorporates elements inspired by local coast and bushland.

Wild Water Play At Warringah Aquatic Centre

Warringah Water Playground
Inspired by elements of Warringah Shire flora and fauna, Warringah Water Playground offers a play experience with clout!

There's so much water play on offer at Warringah Aquatic Centre - where do we begin? The water play features at Warringah Water Playground have been meticulously designed to create a truly immersive play experience. We’re talking a giant dumper bucket beside a curved Warringah flannel flower—which showers water on those standing below and like every element of the playground, is adjustable via a stainless steel wheel that allows children to control the flow of the water.

There’s also a bush-themed section also includes two giant Coastal Banksia leaf showers complete with adjustable heads to allow water to cascade or trickle depending on how the flow is adjusted. Three giant coloured shower rings complete this section along with duelling water cannons and a series of 7 small ground sprays arranged in a complete circle with a separate flow adjustor so that kids can surround themselves in a wall of water—the height of which depends on how far they turn the wheel. Pretty cool, huh?

Outdoor Facilities Aplenty

Warringah Waterpark
More than just a water playground, it's easy to spend the whole day at Warringah Aquatic Centre.

In addition to the epic water playground facilities, there’s a whole lot more that makes Warringah Aquatic Centre worth checking out—like terraced lawns, gym equipment, BBQ areas with picnic facilities, and plenty of shaded areas for keeping cool.

There’s also a 25-metre lap pool at Warringah Aquatic Centre, which has been updated with new shaded areas and seating, plus a splash pad and cave area—perfect for toddlers to explore!
