The Brand-New Disney Wish Cruise Ship Sets Sail

  • All Ages

It's a wish come true for Disney fans - a brand-new Disney cruise ship, The Disney Wish is finally ready to set sail on the high seas!

We first heard about the Disney Wish Cruise ship a couple of years ago before covid hit and the prospect of jumping aboard a mega Disney cruise ship (complete with the first-ever Disney ride at sea!) was easy to envision. Fast forward a couple of years and, luckily, international travel is back on the cards so it's possible to book one of the most epic family holidays aboard one of the most family-friendly cruise ships around!

The Disney Wish Cruise Ship is a Wish Come True

Now that's what we call a kids' club!

The Disney Wish Cruise Ship is the fifth Disney-themed ship in the company's fleet and is set to be its best yet given the huge array of Disney-themed adventures on board.

The ship will house the first-ever Disney ride at sea, the AquaMouse, as well as six pools, original theatre productions, fireworks at night, a Marvel superhero academy for kids, an adults-only Star Wars lounge and an Incredibles-themed obstacle course for families, just to name a few features!

Disney's First Onboard Ride

The epic AquaMouse ride.

Glitz and glamour scream from every corner of this incredible new cruise ship, which Disney calls its 'castle on the sea'. From your arrival at the Grand Hall (and a personal greeting from Cinderella) to palatial ocean-view rooms, three restaurants, dessert bars, six pools, a Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, and Toy Story Splash Zone, there is loads for families to see and do on board this mega cruise ship. And if that's not enough to whet your Disney appetite, just wait until you check out the AquaMouse.

AquaMouse is Disney's first-ever ride onboard a cruise ship and will undoubtedly be the highlight for all kids and kids-at-heart. The AquaMouse attraction will feature a new animated Mickey Mouse short called the Scuba Scramble. A 760-foot water ride that will take you all around the top deck and includes interactive water elements, audio sequences, videos, lighting, show scenes, and special effects.

As you can imagine, accommodations are very luxurious on the Disney Wish. The rooms are called Staterooms and come in a range of classes including Verandah Staterooms, Concierge Staterooms, and Royal Suites. All rooms are designed with families in mind and, of course, Disney, with artwork and subtle decorative touches that celebrate iconic animated films and characters, connecting all guests to the magic of Disney storytelling.

There's good news and there's bad news about booking a cruise on the Disney Wish. The good news is that bookings are now open for families to jump aboard a cruising holiday as early as July 2022, but the bad news is that the cruise destinations will all be in the North Atlantic Ocean, namely the Bahamas. So, yes, we hate to be the bearer of bad (and expensive!) news but you will have to factor flights to America (Florida) in your booking costs.
