It's no secret that here at ellaslist, we're superfans of anything new and outdoorsy we can do with our kids—and Tench Reserve ticks all of our boxes and then some. Here's the lowdown on Penrith's new outdoor oasis.

A Massive Upgrade for Penrith's Tench Reserve

What to Expect From the New Reserve

Situated on the beautiful Nepean River, Tench Reserve is a wonderful community space where mountains, rivers, and plains meet.

It's a go-to for locals to meet friends, exercise and enjoy time with children in the outdoors, and the recent upgrade has improved all of these experiences and created a better, more synchronistic relationship between the park and the river.

Tench Reserve Playspace
The upgrade includes an amazing new playground for children of all ages and stages to enjoy.

Stage one of the Reserve revamp includes beautiful new riverside pathways that include seating areas, a Changing Places amenity, accessible picnic areas and seating, public art, and an incredible inclusive playspace.

Tench Reserve Playground
The new playground by the Nepean River.

The playground is an inclusive, all-ages space that really heroes the natural environment and offers children an incredible place to blow off some steam and play and learn in the great outdoors. We love to see it!

Nepean river park
These new walkways enhance the visitor experience, ensuring access to the waterfront for everyone.

The new, upgraded design focuses on bringing more access points to the water for people to enjoy. This includes walkways that lead down to the water’s edge and opportunities to touch and play with the water. There are places to stop and enjoy the natural riverside experience and new paths and trails that make it easier for everyone to enjoy the park.

Tench Reserve Location

Tench Reserve is a 10-hectare park located on the eastern banks of the Nepean River, southwest of the Penrith City Centre. The park has easy access to the East Bank retail and dining precinct and is well worth a visit for Sydneysiders from across the city.
