Melbourne Start-Up The Dough Co Offer Ready-to-Bake Cookies Delivered Straight To Your Door

If you ask the majority of us how we spent the multiple Melbourne lockdowns due to COVID, you’d probably get answers that include a whole lot of Netlifx, even more wine and perhaps a home-baked loaf of bread or two if you’re lucky.

Well, it turns out that not everyone used the time to re-watch The Letdown (again), and some even used the opportunity to create cookie-shaped wonder in the kitchen, and turn it into a business.

Enter: The Dough Co.; serving up ready-to-bake cookies delivered direct to your door. Here’s what you need to know.

The Back Story

A father-daughter pursuit, The Dough Co. was born after double-degree student and part-time paralegal Amy Silver noted a whole lot of empty shelves where DIY cake and cookie packet mixes should have been during COVID lockdowns. She and her dad, Mark—who (helpfully) owns a corporate catering company, discussed the idea of making cookie dough—and The Dough Co. was born!

The commercial kitchen Mark already ran meant plenty of space to hone their sweet sweet craft, while the COVID lockdowns meant they had a captive audience and time to practice. To help them along, Amy was also the proud recipient of a $5000 grant as part of a competition through Monash University—a winning combination!

The Offering

The Dough Co currently offers has five flavours sold through their own website, as well as at farmers markets around Melbourne. The flavours are classic choc chip, chocolate orange, choc mint, white chocolate and cranberry and their all-new golden oat. If you’re feeling adventurous and like you want to try ‘em all (and we don’t blame you), The Dough Co's bundle pack has you covered.

Each cookie dough log makes 10 normal sized cookies or 5 jumbo ones, and all you have to do is cut up the dough and pop them in the oven for 8 minutes. Sold!

The Feedback

While Amy and Mark are busy developing new cookie dough flavours, along with vegan and gluten-free options, The Dough Co already has hundreds of Melbourne customers placing orders for ready-to-bake dough, and returning time and time again. Sounds like a batch made in heaven to us!
