The first free splash park of its kind in the Canterbury-Bankstown area has finally opened to throngs of screaming, happy kids (and parents!).

When the summer sun beams down in Sydney, it can be a blessing and a curse. Yes, the kids are happy they get to play outside, but that heat can take a toll, especially in Sydney's west! Luckily, there's now a destination for kids to splash and play to their heart's content at the state-of-the-art Greenacre Splash Park.

An impressive $6 million dollars went into the construction of the all-abilities water splash park now known as Greenacre Splash Park.

The year-round community space has taken up residence in the existing but still under-utilised northeast corner of Roberts Park in Greenacre.
