Looking for something a little out of the ordinary to do during a family weekend or the school holidays? Keen to head off on a little road trip, far enough from Sydney to feel like you’ve left the city behind but close enough to not spend all day in the car? Or, looking for a pit stop on a road trip further up the North Coast? Well, we’ve got the perfect destination for you, nestled inland on the stunning Central Coast, just a casual 90-minute drive from Sydney.

Wyong Milk Factory has made a recent comeback of sorts; salvaged and lovingly restored from a working factory during the 1900s to the mecca of family-friendly fun it is today. Here’s what you need to know.

A Family-Friendly Wonderland

Would it be *cheesy* (PSA: there’s an on-site cheese factory!), for us to say that there’s truly something for everyone—little people and grown up’s alike—at Wyong Milk Factory? Whether you’re looking for something fun to do or something delicious to eat, you can rest assured you’ll find it here.

Activity Highlights

A veritable hive of activity, Wyong Milk Factory offers no end of fun to be had. The kids enclosed outdoor playground is complete with a boat perfect for little pirates, swings, cubby houses, soft fall and grass areas plus picnic benches aplenty to sit for a snack or two.

Or, you can explore the gorgeous waterways that the Central Coast has to offer, thanks to kayak, rowboat and stand up paddleboard hire available from All Sorts at Wyong Milk Factory. An ideal thing to do to make a real day out of your visit; it serves up the perfect excuse (as if you need one…) to pack a cheese and chocolate-filled picnic and enjoy some quality time in nature.

For the grown-ups, there’s fitness classes available at All Sorts Fitness, plenty of bar, cafe and restaurant choices to pick from, plus the heavenly-sounding Pamper Cottage is on its way soon. What more could you want?

On the subject of bar, cafe and restaurant choices — Wyong Milk Factory is positively bursting with places to eat and drink. Whether it’s an eclectic pub lunch at Wyong Milk Factory Tavern (which boasts an epic Kids Zone to keep the littles occupied while you enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine—you’re welcome), a breakfast, lunch or wood-fired pizza at Wyong Milk Factory Cafe, a wrap, sandwich and something cold to drink at the new Riverside Bar or something a little spicier at Chilli Secret Thai Cuisine—you certainly won’t go hungry on your visit.

In addition to the plethora of eateries, you can satisfy your sugar cravings at Udderly Sweet Gelato & Lollies, pick up some local artisanal chocolates at Luka Chocolates and sample a mouth-watering selection of local cheeses at Little Creek Cheese while you’re there. We recommend allowing extra space in the car for the inevitable loot you’ll be leaving with…
