Travelling as a family should be an exciting adventure, but for many autistic travellers, flying can feel extremely overwhelming. That's why Emirates are making history by becoming the world's first Autism Certified Airline—a huge step toward making air travel more accessible for neurodiverse families!
Emirates is the World's First Autism Certified Airline

Emirates are training over 30,000 cabin crew and ground staff to better support autistic passengers, thanks to a program developed by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This means that whether you're checking in, going through security, or boarding, Emirates staff will be prepared to assist with kindness, patience, and understanding.
New Autism-Friendly Services

In the coming months, Emirates will introduce new services to create a smoother, more comfortable journey, including:
Sensory tools onboard – Fidget toys and other neurodiverse-friendly items to help ease anxiety.
A sensory guide – A helpful resource for travellers and their families to prepare for different sounds, sights, and experiences before their flight.
Assisted travel lounges at Dubai International Airport (DXB) – A calm, quiet space in Terminal 2, designed for autistic passengers and those with hidden disabilities.
A More Inclusive Future for Air Travel
For many families, air travel has felt out of reach due to sensory challenges—but Emirates are changing that. By leading the way as the first Autism Certified Airline, they're helping create a world where every traveller, no matter their needs, can take off with confidence.
