As the Coronavirus crisis continues to take hold, we live in near seclusion while some of our favourite restaurants are forced to close their doors. It's a sad sight. However, some of Sydney's best foodie haunts live to see another day, creating never-seen-before takeaway menus and special bespoke meals.

So seize the day! Support these Sydney venues that are trying desperately to stay in the game and spice up your self-isolation at the same time, with these not-your-average-takeaway meals that are drool and date-night worthy.

Kid Kyoto, Indu and Mejico - Sydney CBD

Kid Kyoto

Sydney’s sister restaurants Kid Kyoto, Indu and Mejico have come together to create an extraordinary menu of cross-cultural delights available for take-away. The special menu offers 25% off the dine-in price and showcases each venues most popular dishes.

Kid Kyoto treats include their melt-in-your-mouth Caramelised pork hock with teriyaki glaze and Lamb with kimchi and bone marrow gyoza. The Mejico tasters include jalapeno poppers, chargrilled chicken and beef brisket tacos, and Indu has their famous Thilaka’s Potato Curry and Amma’s Daal up for grabs, among other favourites.

You can also order margaritas, sangria, beer and sake! Mejico and INDU are also offering prepared take-home meals for one for only $15.

Huxtons - Bronte

This sweet little corner cafe is normally overflowing with devoted patrons, chowing down on their best-ever french toast and giant panna-cotta-soaked lamingtons, and now Huxtons At Bronte has an equally delicious 'Meals For Home' Menu which you can order online. The made-to-order meals include soups likes pumpkin, cauliflower and leek, and hearty main meals including Lasagne and Slow-cooked Lamb. There are also salads and desserts (the lamingtons!) available and you can grab a coffee when you pick-up!

Lucio's - Paddington

Lucio's

Lucio's is serving up their authentic Italian food made to order for pick up. This Paddington institution has created the Lucio’s at Home menu including antipasti, house-made pasta, mains such as slow-cooked lamb shoulder and balsamic-roasted half duck, sides and desserts. Local home delivery by Lucio's staff is also available.

You can also take your pick from their wine cellar with a huge 50% discount on their reserve list. One bottle per order available with pick up or home delivery

Saint Peter - Paddington

Oxford Street's seafood-focused diner is cooking a dish a day available to pre-order via fishbutchery.com.au before midday and pick up from 3pm. The Mr Niland at Home dishes are cooked by the teams at Fish Butchery and Saint Peter and include Bowen Line Caught Coral Trout Laksa, Murrumbidgee Murray Cod Tagine and Butchery Fish Pie. Dinners serve two to four people and are ready to serve in just one or two steps at home. Keep an eye on Instagram to see what dishes are announced next.

Sean's Panorama - Bondi

The celebrated beachside restaurant may be closed for now, but chef Sean Moran is still dishing up takeaway meals every day with a Pick-up & Go Menu available every night from Sean's Panorama. The menu includes quail salad, roasted lamb, pan-fried mulloway and pumpkin ravioli.

Bloodwood - Newtown

Bloodwood

The full Bloodwood menu is now available for delivery or to order and collects, bringing creative, flavourful fine dining home. Focused on seasonal produce, the current selection includes a range of sharing plates like fried chicken, lamb kofta and scotch fillet with mushroom. You can also take away dessert, wine, beer and cocktails!

Cho Cho San - Potts Point

The Tokyo-inspired eatery now has all your favourite dishes available for take-away. The seasonal menu focuses on Japanese simplicity where fresh ingredients are the stars, including charcoal chicken, Tonkatsu Japanese Curry and Crab Fried Rice.

Chin Chin - Surry Hills

Chin Chin has just launched its takeaway menu so you can still get your South-East Asian fix. The Surry Hills restaurant will have orders available for pick-up Wednesday-Sunday 4-9pm, with stir-fries, curries, noodles, rice and more.

Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung

The kings of hand-made dumplings, Din Tai Fung, now have a full range of frozen dumplings available to pick up plus noodles dishes and buns. Don't forget their insanely good spicey sauce! Get your Yum-Cha fix with BBQ Pork buns and Shrimp and Prawn dumplings, all ready to collect from locations across Sydney.
