Choosing the best primary school for your child can be a bit of a minefield. Do you choose the best primary school in your suburb? Or do you choose to venture outside of your area for the sake of finding the best primary school in Sydney? Lucky for all Sydneysiders, top-ranking primary schools in Sydney are plentiful, so if you live on the North Shore and want to send your child to an excellent primary school close to home, you've got plenty of options up your sleeve.

The results of the most recent NAPLAN test is often the most trustworthy source when looking at top-performing primary schools near you, however, the year that was 2020 delivered us many ups and downs (thank you COVID-19), one of the downs being that NAPLAN 2020 didn't go ahead. So without the helpful results of NAPLAN 2020 we have to turn to the 2019 NAPLAN results to uncover which are the top-performing primary schools in Sydney's North Shore.

The results of the 2019 NAPLAN results show us that three of the top five performing schools on the North Shore were public schools, with the top spot going to St Ives North Public School, while Abbotsleigh in Wahroonga recorded the highest result out of all primary schools across the region with 552.1 points.
