5. Winter Wonderland at The Grounds of Alexandria
Snowflakes drift, fairy lights twinkle and the scent of melting white‑chocolate fills the air - Winter Wonderland has landed at The Grounds of Alexandria, transforming its famous laneways into a story‑book snowscape until mid‑September 2025.
Follow the frosted path past crystal‑studded trees and drifting "snow" to discover hidden photo nooks that look straight out of a European ski village - no passport (or frostbite) required. For the ultimate brag‑worthy moment, book a five‑minute Private Snow Session after hours: up to six guests get the fountain garden to themselves while a mini blizzard rages just long enough to make snow angels.
The kitchens have joined the chill‑fest, too. Tuck into the Snow Angel mini cake of vanilla sponge, coconut ganache and raspberry compote before sipping a shimmering Cold Snap blue‑lemonade crowned with fairy floss. Dessert lovers can share the theatrical Coconut Chill white‑chocolate tree, while adults toast the season with a Snow Queen cocktail that literally flurries as it's served.
Entry to the snowy laneway is free but strictly reserved for diners at The Café, The Garden Bar & BBQ or The Potting Shed, so book a table first and keep your receipt handy as your "snow‑pass".

Celebrate Christmas the cosy way this winter at Yulefest in the Blue Mountains. Each July, the region transforms into a magical midwinter wonderland filled with festive cheer, twinkling lights, and roaring fires. Whether you're after a hearty Christmas-style dinner, live entertainment, family fun, or a touch of old-world charm, there's something for everyone across the mountains. From charming hotels decked out in decorations to Santa sightings and snowfall (if you're lucky), Yulefest brings a joyful, wintry escape just a short drive from Sydney.
