Beaman Park Scores Big with $3 Million Upgrade

Local athletes and weekend sports lovers are set to enjoy mega playing conditions at Beaman Park, Earlwood, with a major $3 million upgrade now complete.

The makeover has transformed the popular park with smoother, safer playing surfaces, new sports fields, upgraded lighting, and state-of-the-art irrigation and drainage systems, particularly benefiting the eastern fields.

Home to local football clubs, a district cricket association and other sporting groups, Beaman Park’s improved facilities will not only enhance player safety but also mean fewer weather-related cancellations.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the upgrades would be a game-changer for everyone who uses the park. “The new surface and drainage mean fewer washouts and a better experience for both recreational users and weekend warriors,” he said.

Football Canterbury CEO Trent Thomas echoed the excitement, noting the ground’s unique ability to host up to six games at once. “With improved drainage and lighting, our clubs—especially the kids training on weeknights—can play more often, and more safely,” he said.

The project was funded in partnership with the NSW Government, including a $1 million grant through the NSW Office of Sport’s Multi-Sport Community Facility Fund.

So whether you're a budding athlete or just enjoy a kick-around with friends, Beaman Park is now better equipped than ever to support sport, fun and community connection.
