Randwick❜s Alison Park Playground Gets a Makeover

Randwick's beloved Alison Park Playground just got a major glow-up, and it's every bit as vibrant and inclusive as we could hope for.

After a spruce-up led by Randwick City Council, this local gem is back and better than ever, decked out with funky new features that kids of all ages and abilities will absolutely adore.

Randwick's Alison Park Playground Gets a Makeover

This is just one of eight playground upgrades the Council have rolled out over the past five years, reflecting their solid gold commitment to jazzing up the community spaces and boosting the vibes for families and little adventurers alike.

"We’re so excited to open this beautiful new playground to the public. It's brighter, safer, more engaging and inclusive for children of all ages and abilities. By all reports, it is also a lot more fun!", says Randwick Mayor Philipa Veitch.

Nestled in the south-west nook of Alison Park, this 491-square metre play paradise has been a neighbourhood fave since it first popped up in 1986. Thanks to some top-notch community feedback—including wish-list items from the kiddos like a run roller and a nest swing—the Council cooked up two fresh concept plans, letting locals pick their winner.

"If we truly want our playgrounds to be accessible and fun for all, it is vitally important that children have a say", Veitch adds.

What's on Offer at the New Alison Park Playground

Out with the old and in with the new: the playground saw a complete overhaul with snazzy, non-toxic rubber soft fall, secure fencing, and a whole suite of playful equipment.

It's all about inclusivity here, with thoughtful designs that ensure everyone gets in on the fun, from percussion play zones that boost developmental skills to chill spots perfect for all.

Plus, the playground has a new, larger shade cloth offering 42% coverage to keep the sun at bay, a fresh water bubbler for those thirsty play days, and a cosy sheltered picnic spot for family hangouts.
