NAIDOC Week 2025 is just around the corner, running from Sunday 6 July to Sunday 13 July, and Sydney is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, with the theme The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, highlighting the achievements of the past and the promise of future Indigenous leaders.
Sydney's calendar is packed with events that honour First Nations culture and invite everyone to participate. Here are some highlights.

The National Indigenous Art Fair

Held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal on 5–6 July, the National Indigenous Art Fair showcases Indigenous art and culture.
NAIDOC Week at Barangaroo

On 7 - 11 July, enjoy free, all-ages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance workshops at the Pier Pavilion in Barangaroo.
NAIDOC Week Open Day at the Australian National Maritime Museum

On 6 July, the Australian National Maritime Museum is hosting a free family fun day to kick off NAIDOC Week.
NAIDOC Week at Darling Harbour

Celebrate with special NAIDOC-themed fireworks, Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, and more on 5 July at Darling Harbour.
Weaving the Colours of Country Workshop at the Museum of Sydney

Join the Museum of Sydney for a creative, intergenerational workshop, Weaving the Colours of Country, with Gumbaynggirr textile artist Sancia Ridgeway, inspired by the exhibition Seeing Sydney, Knowing Country, on 8 July from 11 am - 3 pm.
