Get ready to take that insta-snap! These new food joints and food creations around Sydney are pretty as a picture. Mostly family-friendly but we've included an adults-only dessert for some kid-free fun too.
Flowers & Unicorn Food At Social Hideout Cafe, Waterloo
Decked out in 17,000 pink and purple flowers and neon lights, this new insta-food hotspot might be the most colourful cafe there ever was, right through to the food! Think purple Taro Pancakes, a Matcha Pannacotta Granola Bowl and a Red Velvet Benedict (on a red velvet croissant. Drool).
Boozy Soft Serve At Gin Lane, Chippendale
So much yes to having a summer drink in dessert form. Head to Gin Lane's magical new Soft Serve Bar (Monday to Wednesday from 4-5pm, and Thursday to Saturday from 2-4pm) for their gin or classic cocktail-spiked soft serve of the day in your choice of cup or cone. An Aperol Spritz soft serve with Prosecco and popping candy is on the rotation FYI.
Vegan & Gluten Free Donuts At Nutie Donuts, Surry Hills & Balmain
You read that right. These generously sized donuts/pieces of heaven will suit even the strictest of dietary requirements, proof that plant-based peeps, coeliacs and lactose intolerants can have their donuts and eat them too - and in every flavour and colour you could ever dream of. The small and sweet Surry Hills spot opened last month following the success of Nutie in Balmain.
Rosewater Meringue Ice Cream Sandwich At Song Kitchen, Surry Hills
Head to the southern end of Hyde Park to get your hands on this pretty-in-pink pistachio, salted caramel and fairy floss-laced creation - and all for a good cause; this non-for-profit food joint donates all proceeds to victims of domestic violence.
Epic Pancake Stacks At Hale & Hearty, Waterloo
THE place to go for weekend pancakes, Hale & Hearty has just opened a second and larger Waterloo location to accommodate more people wanting their fluffy pancake fix (there can be a good 45 minute to one hour wait for a table at the original location on weekends). Everything here happens to be gluten free too (but you wouldn't know it), and there are vegan and protein pancake options on the menu.
