The Bay Run

  • Mums & Bubs

Don’t be frightened away by the word “run”! This flat, well maintained walk is completely family, bike, pram (and dog!) friendly. Following the entire natural course of the cove, you’re never more than 20 metres from the water and the harbour views are amazing. The walk is an enclosed loop so you can start and finish anywhere along the way. Along the way you’ll see mangroves, beaches, historic buildings, the Iron Cove Bridge and of course, the harbour. There are interpretive signs along the way too, with information about aboriginal tribes that used the area, convict history and local flora and fauna.

It’s a great ride or walk for children, as it passes through at least 10 parks, including Brett Park in Drummoyne, Callan  and King Georges Parks in Rozelle and Leichhardt Park. Most have toilets and picnic tables, there are plenty of playgrounds and coffee stops and at Leichhardt Park there’s also a pool .

So get your sneakers on and get active-this is great FREE activity to get the whole family out and moving!
