Audley Boatshed

Escape the city and spend a day in a natural wonderland – with all the equipment you need ready to hire!

Audley, in the Sutherland Shire, is the gateway to the Royal National Park and just 30 km’s south of Sydney CBD. It’s been popular for over 100 years with Sydneysiders escaping the hustle and bustle for some down time in an idyllic location.

The historic Audley Boatshed is a must-visit institution, right on the bank of the Hacking River.
Running since 1893 it has established itself well within Sydney’s history, and makes a trip to the area feel like a step back in time. Being the largest boatshed in the Southern Hemisphere means that there is no bigger or better place to go when wanting to enjoy a day on the water!

Row a boat, paddle a canoe or kayak along Kangaroo Creek or the Hacking River, and head upstream to one of the beautiful nearby picnic areas including Ironbark Flat or Wattle Forest. The birds eye views are breathtaking. For something a little different, hire an aqua bike – great fun for all the family and the kids will love them. Look out for native animals along the way, and discover secluded swimming holes for a little dip.

For the more adventurous, you can ride a mountain bike along Lady Carrington Drive alongside the Hacking River and explore the magnificent forest trails within the Royal National Park – a must for birdwatching.

Audley Boat Shed is open for boat, kayak, canoe, aqua bike and mountain bike hire from 9am to 5pm seven days a week, 365 days a year.
