Applications are now open for the 2026 Y NSW Youth Parliament program—offering an incredible opportunity for young people in Years 10, 11 and 12 to step into leadership, find their voice and create real change.
Y NSW Youth Parliament 2026 Applications Now Open
Youth Parliament is a hands-on, empowering experience that brings together passionate young people from across NSW to learn how change really happens. Participants explore leadership, advocacy, policy development and democratic debate, while building confidence, skills and friendships that last well beyond the program.
Importantly, Youth Parliament is not just for school captains, prefects or debating champions. It’s designed for young people from all walks of life who want to speak up, be heard and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The Y NSW is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive cohort and offers tailored support and accommodations to ensure every young person can participate fully.
Why Participate in Youth Parliament
With more than 20 years of impact behind it, Youth Parliament is Y NSW’s flagship youth leadership program, supporting students to engage with civic leadership, understand the parliamentary process and advocate for issues they care about.
The program places a strong focus on inclusion, actively supporting young people who may face barriers to participating in civic or democratic life, including those from regional, low-income or culturally diverse backgrounds.
For teens who are curious, thoughtful, passionate or simply ready to try something new, Youth Parliament can be truly transformative. If you know a young person who would benefit from this experience, now is the time to encourage them to apply.
