Wellness Walk for Mental Health


The Wellness Walk is a bridge walk for mental health. It is a family-friendly fun event to promote mental health awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. The Wellness Walk is a part of national Mental Health Month.

For the past ten years, the Wellness Walk has offered our communities a fantastic opportunity to get out for a walk and increase physical activity while showing your support for people living with mental illness, their families, and carers.  Crossing Sydney Harbour Bridge signifies bridging the gap by moving from stigma to understanding. Gathering together demonstrates fellowship, union, and care for the people we support. The act of walking reflects that living with mental illness is a step-by-step, one-step-at-a-time process.

Participants joining the bridge walk will be able to celebrate their week's efforts with a vibrant festival full of fun activities on the grounds of Government House. People can either choose to walk 2km around the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens or 5.9km across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and back. 

This year, participants across Australia are invited to join the event virtually and walk or run anytime, anywhere, around their local communities. Register here!

Cost:       $15 for virtual walk (anywhere in Australia), $30 - $35 for Sydney Bridge Walk
