Visit the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan this Winter school holidays for a great, fun and active day out.  There's a great range of activities on offer to keep you and your little ones entertained.

Bush Playgroup – Tasters
Nature play is proven to be extremely beneficial for the health and development of humans big and small. Bring your little ones to our taster workshops and watch them grow under the careful guidance of our educated Nature Play staff.

Kids vs Wild – Tracks, Trails & Treasure Hunts
Lost in the bush! Join our team of Education Rangers for a morning of shelter building and survival games, animal tracking and trail making. Make a mud map and follow the nature-based treasure hunt whilst having an awesome time out in the Garden.

Spotlight Prowl for Kids
Dusk is a wonderful time to spot animals in The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. The park is home to a variety of nocturnal creatures, from brushtail possums, wallaroos, echidnas, and all kinds of spiders. Join our experienced Rangers for a fascinating and surprising spotlight walk to see how the Garden transforms when the sun goes down.

Eco Art
If you love plants and animals, are aged between 5 - 12 years and want to explore your creative side, then this art workshop is for you! Children will play some nature-based art games working with a range of art mediums and natural materials to make a series of works to either leave in situ (on site) and to take home.

Garden Science - Insects
How do bees see? Where does honey come from? How do flowers use colours, perfume and shapes to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators? So many questions to explore! In the morning session, you will go on a bug hunt, become a bee in our “Pollination Game” and find out all the interesting details about our little friends. In the afternoon, you will collect loose parts and create an Insect Hotel.

Pizza Party in the Bush
Kids will learn all about native Australian plants and how they are used by Aboriginal people and then create their own yummy pizza, from materials right here in the Garden.

Garden Art for Kids
Come with us and enjoy the beauty of the gardens! We will show you the best spots and secrets of the beautiful Australian Botanic Gardens and help you create beautiful art works that you can take home (or leave here with us). We will be working with a range of natural materials.

Little Red Riding Hood
The classic tale we all know and love (with a few twists) with the chance for the audience to be in the story. Meet all of your favourite characters- the hungry wolf, the sweet and innocent Red Riding Hood, the dear little grandma and the woodcutter as they tell this delightful tale set in the forest that is as enchanting as the story itself. Things may change from the original story as the characters interact with and choose volunteers from the audience to come up and be part of the action!
