The Hunter Valley Steamfest is rolling into the Hunter Valley for the whole family to enjoy this April. Whether you're a child or child-at-heart, if you have a penchant for trains and antique machinery from bygone eras, this year's Steamfest is sure to impress.

Only a short 2-hour drive from Sydney, Maitland is a scenic country town in the stunning Hunter Valley and is the ideal spot for a family-friendly weekend jaunt, even more so when a host of antique steam trains and classic cars will be rolling in.

Be transported back in time to when steam power was the height of locomotive technology. Portable steam engines, antique machinery, coal shovelling, a classic cars show and even a steam-powered corn cooker are just some of the activities available in this impressive line-up. The most exciting part of this year's Hunter Valley Steamfest is the inspiring assembly of steam trains that will be on display. Hailing from the early 19th Century, Locomotive 3526 and 3265 are some of the most successful steam trains to represent the NSW Railway in history. The Red Rattler and Tin Hare will also be on display for inquisitive eyes to have a gander.

Grab your tickets and be part of the annual Great Train Race or take a ride on one of the scheduled train trips to various destinations throughout the Hunter Valley. For all rev-heads big and small, this year's Show 'n' Shine is a must- see! A showcase of motoring history, the Show 'n' Shine is a collection of 400 classic cars, live rock 'n' roll music, food stalls, and rockabilly fun for the whole family.

Oh and this year you can attend Steam Fest After Dark!  Expanding the heart of the festival, Maitland Station Precinct for the first time will be running into the night. Be sure to stick around to enjoy amusement rides, live music, food, other activities and all things steam right up until 9.00pm (Saturday night only.)
