Text The Enchanted Trees At Organism: An Interactive Light Exhibition

  • Mon Aug 13 - Fri Aug 17 2018
  • Mums & Bubs
    All Ages
  • $0.00

The kids will swear Christmas has come early at this interactive light exhibit.

Part of University of Sydney's Bright Ideas program, Organism by uni student Antony Youssef transforms the uni's Courtyard Restaurant and Bar into a magical, sensory space that encourages the viewer to engage with nature - lit-up trees, in this case, with each tree having its own unique response to human interaction - a comment on how far removed we have become from the environment, serving as a reminder to literally stop and smell the roses.

One of the trees is able to receive text messages from the viewers, and another becomes animated in response to water. Sensors and coloured lights in another is symbolic of our impact on the environment.

For a post-exhibit feed, why not soak the space up for a little longer and sit amongst the illuminated trees with a $6 After 6pm Soup? Comes with a free garlic bread, so the kids will be happy.

Where:    University of Sydney Courtyard Restaurant & Bar, Science Road, Camperdown
When:     Monday 13 - Friday 17 August 2018, 4-7pm
