Sydney❜s QVB Is Getting Spooky After Dark!

There's no denying that Sydney's Queen Victoria Building is the Grand Old Dame of the city skyline and home to a large chunk of the city's cultural significance (not to mention some of Sydney's top-end retailers!). It's no surprise then that we were highly intrigued when we heard that the QVB was going to be opening its doors late into the night and taking Sydneysiders on an eerie tour into some parts of the ancient building that have remained closed to the public until now. So if you're a fan of the supernatural and keen to meet the QVB's resident ghost, read on!

The QVB After Dark Series is a fully immersive and interactive multi-floor sensory experience and encompasses the Heart of the QVB Immersive Installation, the After Dark Tour Series, and QVB After Dark LIVE. Come along on the first 3 Thursdays of the month from 5-7 pm and enter the installation and write your future visions for the QVB on ribbons which will gradually fill the heart. If you're more interested in seeing the eerie undercurrents of the QVB, an after-hours exploration of the cathedral-like building is sure to delight as well as chill you to your very core. You'll even get a chance to hunt for the spirit of Mei Quong Tart, a Chinese-born merchant who's rumoured to haunt the QVB. And once you've had your fill of thrills and scares, Reign and Esquire will be offering themed dining and drinks to calm your nerves. The After Dark Tour Series will run every Thursday night for the month of August from 6-9 pm.  

And for the piece de resistance, QVB After Dark LIVE will see visitors armed with a lantern and guided by roving artists including ØFFERINGS and Twisted Elements as you view parts of the 120-year-old historic building usually closed to the public. Additionally, Ginger and the Ghost will present a live music show and an array of creatively engaging retailer activations will be on offer, such as ‘Close Shaves’ Story Sessions at Truefitt and Hill barber’s shop and After Dark Glamour Sessions at Inglot and the newly opened Dyson Beauty Lab.
