Sydney Mardi Gras 2025

Easily one of the biggest and most colourful festivals of the Sydney social calendar, the Mardi Gras festival we know and love will once again shine a global spotlight on LGBTQIA+SB lives, culture, communities, and creativity with a lineup of incredibly inclusive events. 

The 47th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is set to be an incredible celebration showcasing the theme "Free to be"—celebrating how far we've come in the quest for true LGBTQIA+ equality.

What's Happening at the 2025 Sydney Mardi Gras

Family Zone at Oxtravaganza

For families looking to soak up the magic in a kid-friendly space, the Family Zone at Oxtravaganza is the place to be. Just one block from Oxford Street, this dedicated family area offers a fun, safe, and relaxed environment where little ones can play, explore, and enjoy the festivities.

With a whole day of colourful activities, the Family Zone is packed with entertainment for kids of all ages. Two Drag Storytime sessions will bring stories to life in the most fabulous way, nestled between a line-up of face painting, art activities, balloon fun, colouring-in games, and goodie bags filled with surprises. There's plenty of shade, soft grass, and space to spread out, making it the perfect spot to escape the crowds while still being part of the Mardi Gras buzz.

The fun kicks off from 10 am, and families are welcome to bring a picnic or grab a bite from the many delicious cafes and restaurants nearby. For tired parents and carers, there's even a free seated massage by Tom Tao Ding (check the website for session times) so you can unwind while the kids play.

Fair Day

Get ready for an unforgettable day at Victoria Park on Sunday 18 February, where over 70,000 people will come together for a vibrant rainbow extravaganza at Fair Day 2025!

Kicking off at 10 am, diverse communities will unite to celebrate the vibrant spirit of LGBTQIA+SB pride. At Fair Day this year, you'll encounter stylish pups, pulsating beats from DJs, and bustling dancefloors alongside over 200 food, retail, and community stalls. With six stages and six bars, there's no shortage of entertainment and refreshments for this unmissable event.

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park’s Mardi Gras Party

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is hosting its fabulous, star-studded Pre-Mardi Gras Party featuring Samantha Jade!

Expect an epic night of music, dancing, and pure celebration, where love, pride, and equality take centre stage. The one and only Samantha Jade will be bringing the vibes with a special live performance, and with free-flowing drinks, roaming bites, and DJs keeping the energy high all night, this is the ultimate way to kick off the Mardi Gras magic.

With Oxford Street at its doorstep, you'll have front-row access to the starting point of the Mardi Gras Parade! This exclusive event is the ultimate spot to embrace this year's Mardi Gras festivities.
